Just the two of us.
ropeus2 is a private connection between exactly two people. One rope, two ends, nobody in the middle. End-to-end encrypted, iOS.
The product rule
A rope has two ends. If a feature would need a third — a group, a contact list, a directory — it doesn't belong in ropeus2. Once two people pair, that rope is sealed. No one can join it, be added to it, or even discover it exists.
One invite pairs exactly two accounts. Pairing closes permanently the moment the second end activates. There is no third member, ever.
Text, photos, and video live in a single private conversation. No inbox, no chat list, no second conversation. Just the two of you.
You can see when the other end is here, and call live when you both are. No feed, no followers, no profiles for anyone else to see.
The double wall
Someone who picks up your phone learns nothing. And someone who somehow gets past the first lock still can't read a thing.
ropeus2 opens as a real, fully working notes app. There's no login screen for a hidden app, no "wrong password," no hint that a private vault exists. A personal, secret gesture — known only to the two of you — is the way in.
Even if someone knows the gesture, the vault won't open without you. Face ID plus a passphrase you set unlock keys that live on your device — never on our server. Auto-lock closes it again the moment you step away.
Encryption
ropeus2 is end-to-end encrypted. Messages, photos, videos, and calls are encrypted on one device and decrypted only on the other end's device. Our servers relay sealed data — they never hold the keys to open it.
The backend passes along encrypted blobs. It never has your private keys, your passphrase, or a readable copy of anything you send.
No advertising identifiers, no contacts upload, no social graph, no profiling. There's nothing public here to build one from.
No message previews, no names, no counts — and notifications carry no content. What's inside the rope stays inside the rope.
Honest about the limits. No app can stop the other person from screenshotting or photographing their own screen — disappearing media is a courtesy control, not a guarantee, and we say so in the app. And because your keys live only on your device, if you lose your phone and your passphrase, the only way back is for the other end to approve your new device. There is no password reset, and no one — not even us — can recover a lost thread for you.
Pairing
Under two minutes, and strict enough that a sealed rope can never quietly gain a third person.
You get a single-use invite code and a QR code to share.
Send the code to the one person you want. It expires, and you can revoke it.
Both phones show the same safety phrase. Check it matches — that stops anyone impersonating your partner.
The rope locks to your two devices. The code is destroyed. No one can be added later.
Coming to iOS
ropeus2 is coming to iOS. No launch date is announced yet — joining adds you to the waitlist, and we'll email you once when it opens. Nothing to install today.
