Terms of Service
Draft outline
Draft only — not final legal text. This outlines how ropeus2 is meant to work. The final, binding Terms will be prepared with a lawyer before launch. Nothing here is legal advice.
Who can use ropeus2
ropeus2 is for adults, for personal, private communication between two paired people. It is not a public platform, a marketplace, or a broadcasting service. You are responsible for keeping your device, passphrase, and the way into your vault private.
Two-person pairing
A rope connects exactly two ends. There is no third member, no group, no observer, and no admin access to a rope. Pairing happens only by single-use invite and mutual confirmation. Neither end may add, invite, or grant access to anyone else — attempting to get around the two-person seal is a breach of these terms.
Acceptable use
Use must be lawful. Don't use ropeus2 to harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, or infringe anyone's rights, and don't try to break the encryption or access controls. Don't hand your unlocked vault, passphrase, or keys to a third party, and don't resell or rent access to a rope.
Unpairing and deletion
Either end can unpair at any time. Unpairing ends the rope, revokes the pairing keys, and deletes the server-side data for that rope. Content already on the other person's device stays on their device — we cannot promise deletion of what lives on someone else's phone.
No moderation of content we can't read
Because ropeus2 is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot and do not scan, review, or moderate what is inside a rope. Safety inside a rope is handled by the two ends — you can block the other end and unpair at any time.
Service, liability, and governing law
ropeus2 is provided as described, with no guarantee of uninterrupted delivery or call quality. Liability limits, governing law, dispute handling, and the minimum age will be set in the final Terms prepared with a lawyer.
